Cooking with Ben and Jenn

With the temp reaching 102 degrees today (heat index of 107) Benjamin and I decided to do some indoor activities today---that included baking CUPCAKES!!!!

Benjamin decided on strawberry cake mix, and vanilla and chocolate fudge frosting. (drool)

Directions:
First, wash your hands before starting to bake...


Make sure you have all the right tools and ingredients:


Lay the cupcake liners in the pan...




Take a break to smell the yummy strawberry cake mix (lol)....


Pour cake mix into bowl...


Add water....


And oil...


Watch while the eggs get added..(I'm not that fun of a mom, to allow him to crack the eggs himself..lol)


Stir well...


Cover ears while mom uses the electric mixer...


Now they are ready to bake..




Take a lunch break, while the cupcakes are baking..

(Grilled cheese squares, cut strawberries, and sunflower seeds--Benjamin calls them "flower seeds")

Sit back and enjoy lunch


Now go take a nap while the cupcakes cool.....


(will update after nap, on the frosting/decorating of the cupcakes, and how they turned out.)

Update

The cupcakes were a hit, as you can see from the following pictures. But, like myself, Benjamin preferred the yummy sprinkles best, with the cake part being a close 2nd . The chocolate frosting (well, after forcing him to at least try it, he wasn't too fond of it. LOL Which is crazy because the kid LOVES chocolate. lol
